
February 14, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of a one-count indictment* charging JOSE RIVERA, with attempted possession with intent to deliver two kilograms of cocaine, in violation of 21 United States Code, Section 846. The indictment alleges that on January 19, 2007, RIVERA attempted to possess two kilograms of cocaine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This indictment arose out of an investigation conducted by U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Defendant RIVERA faces a maximum sentence of 40 years imprisonment, a mandatory minimum sentenced of 5 years imprisonment, a mandatory minimum of 4 years up to lifetime supervised release, a $2,000,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.
