January 5, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of a one-count indictment* charging CHARLES LENDEN FRENCH, a Jamaican national also known as “Christopher Henry,” with unlawful re-entry into the United States after deportation, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326. The indictment alleges that on December 8, 2006, FRENCH was found in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after having been twice previously deported from the United States in 2001 and 2004.
This indictment arose out of an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Defendant FRENCH faces a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment, three years supervised release, a $250,000 fine and a $100 special assessment.
