July 13, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an Information* charging defendant Jardenson Castro with six counts of passing counterfeit currency, all in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 472. The defendant passed approximately $6,000 in counterfeit $100 bills at various Western Union stores located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Defendant Castro faces a maximum penalty of 120 years in prison, 3 years of supervised release, a $1.5 million fine and a $600 special assessment.
