July 31, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the unsealing of a two-count indictment* against Dion Fowler, a/k/a “Tommy,” and Eric McCoy, a/k/a Booper,” charging them with distribution of cocaine base (“crack”), and distribution of crack within 1000 feet of a school.
The indictment specifically charges that: on or about June 29, 2006, Fowler and McCoy distributed, and aided and abetted the distribution of, approximately 28.9 grams of crack within 1000 feet of Frankford High School, located at 5000 Oxford Avenue in Philadelphia.
If convicted, Fowler and McCoy each face a maximum sentence of 80 years imprisonment, a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years imprisonment, at least 8 years supervised release, and a multi-million dollar fine. This case was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) and is part of an joint city and federal effort to identify and prosecute drug dealers operating in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.
