June 30, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an Indictment* charging defendants Johnnie Markel Carter, Nathaniel Griffin, and Nakia Richardson with one count of conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery, one count of armed robbery, and one count of carrying and use of a firearm during a crime of violence. The indictment charges that the defendants committed the robbery of the United Savings Bank, 301 Baltimore Pike, Springfield, Pennsylvania on April 19, 2007. The defendants are facing a maximum penalty of lifetime imprisonment, 5 years of supervised release, and a $750,000 fine.
