June 30, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan announced the filing of a nine-count indictment* charging defendants MICHAEL LLOYD BRUNSON and VICKIE FREEMAN with conspiracy, dealing in firearms without a license and aiding and abetting, and making false statements to federally licensed firearms dealers in order to “straw purchase” 18 firearms, one of which was a semiautomatic assault weapon, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371, 922(a)(1)(A), 924(a)(1)(A), and 2.

This case was investigated by the Reading, Pennsylvania Office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives with the aid of the Emmaus Police Department. The case has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Eric B. Henson.
