June 27, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an indictment* charging HECTOR QUEVAS, a.k.a Hector Cuevas, a.k.a. “Junito,” with distribution of cocaine and cocaine base (“crack”), and aiding and abetting that distribution, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1).

If convicted, the defendant faces a mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison, and a $10 million fine.

The case was investigated by the Philadelphia Field Division of the DEA, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office DDOU, IDIS, the Philadelphia Police Narcotics Field Unit #1, and the Philadelphia Police Highway Patrol. Assistant United States Attorney Bea L. Witzleben has been assigned to prosecute this matter.
