Meehan announced the filing of a two-count Indictment* charging Jorge Canuelas with attempting to possess with intent to distribute approximately 1.4 kilograms of cocaine, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846. If convicted, defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 40 years imprisonment, with a 5-year mandatory minimum, a mandatory minimum of 4 years supervised release up to a lifetime of supervised release, a $2,000,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment.
