March 8, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the indictment* of Alexander Ernesto-Rivas charging him with being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm.

If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of ten years imprisonment, a $250, 000 fine, three years supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Joseph E. McGettigan, III.
