May 11, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan today announced the filing of an Indictment* against David Viera and Luis Viera charging them with conspiracy to distribute 50 or more grams of cocaine base (“crack”) in and around Philadelphia, PA and related charges. This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Philadelphia Police Department. If convicted, each defendant faces a maximum of life imprisonment. David Viera faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years imprisonment and Luis Viera faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years imprisonment. Both face a substantial fine.
