Carlton Arthur Waite Sentenced to 41 Months in Prison For Drug and Money Laundering Conspiracy
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – On April 20, 2012, Carlton Arthur Waite, 38, of Johnson City, Tenn., was sentenced in U.S. District Court at Greeneville, to serve 41 months in prison for his role in a drug and money laundering conspiracy, by the Honorable J. Ronnie Greer.
The charges against Waite came from a traffic violation stop in Texas, at which almost $9,000.00 in cash was found in his vehicle. It was determined that this cash was intended to be used to purchase nine ounces of cocaine to be brought back to Tennessee and distributed.
Law enforcement agencies participating in the investigations which led to the indictment and subsequent convictions of Brandon and Waite include the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Johnson City Police Department, Johnson City Police Department Vice Squad, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne Taylor and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Ben Whittemore represented the United States.
