MAN SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS A man who robbed the Bank of America branch in downtown Fort Worth, Texas, last December, was sentenced today in federal court, announced United States Attorney Richard B. Roper. John Kevin Chism was sentenced by the Honorable Terry R. Means, United States District Judge, to 96 months imprisonment, following his plea in July to one count of bank robbery. John Kevin Chism, age 45, of Dallas, admitted in plea papers filed in Court, that he entered the Bank of America branch, located at 500 West Seventh Street, in Fort Worth on December 22, 2005 and approached a teller, showing the teller a note that said, “Put it all in bag. Hurry.” Chism handed the teller a bag and told her to “hurry,” and at one point, while the teller was placing money in the bag, Chism reached inside his jacket with his right hand to indicate that he had a weapon. After the teller placed cash from her teller drawer into the bag, Chism fled the bank. ###
