GANG MEMBER AND BANK ROBBER SENTENCED
Aaron Thompson, a/k/a “Baby Huey,” age 27, of Lubbock, was sentenced today to 60 months imprisonment by United States District Judge Sam R. Cummings. Thompson, pled guilty in June to one count of conspiracy to possess and dispose of stolen firearms. Thompson holds the rank of “Lieutenant” in the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas. Thompson’s two co-defendants, Lubbock residents, Matthew C. Courtney, age 34, and Cory D. Daniel, a/k/a “Voodoo,” age 27, are also members of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas, and both have been convicted and are awaiting sentencing. A federal jury convicted Courtney in July of conspiracy to possess and dispose of 26 stolen firearms, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. Daniel pled guilty in June to one count of felon in possession of a firearm. Courtney and Daniel burglarized a residence located at 2811 98th Street, in Lubbock in August 2005 and stole numerous items, including 26 firearms. They stashed the weapons at Thompson’s residence and made plans to sell and dispose of the stolen firearms. Courtney conspired with Thompson to trade the stolen guns for methamphetamine and/or money. In another sentencing held today, Judge Cummings sentenced Ivin Darrell Wozencraft, of Amarillo, Texas, to 105 months imprisonment. Wozencraft pled guilty in June to one count of aggravated bank robbery of City Bank, 3251 50th Street, in Lubbock on April 21, 2004. That morning, Wozencraft and co-defendant David Aaron Johnson backed a stolen 1991 Honda Civic into a parking space in front of City Bank and rushed
inside. Both were wearing disguises and they ordered everyone to the ground. Wozencraft was holding a firearm and pointed it at two tellers and demanded money. Johnson grabbed the money and the two fled the bank and drove away in the Honda Civic. David Aaron Johnson, who pled guilty to one count of aggravated credit union robbery and one count of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, was sentenced in July to 27 years imprisonment. Johnson, along with others, committed the aggravated robbery of the Plains Bell Federal Credit Union. ###
