LARGE-SCALE CRACK DEALER FROM SOUTH DALLAS
SENTENCED TO NEARLY 22 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON

United States Attorney Richard B. Roper announced that Dallas resident, Montreal Blair, was sentenced today by the Honorable Jorge A. Solis, United States District Judge, to 260 months imprisonment. Blair had pled guilty to one count of a federal indictment charging distribution of 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack cocaine). In addition, Judge Solis ordered that Blair forfeit eight firearms that he used in the course of his illegal drug dealings, as well as more than $2000 cash, to the government.

A federal grand jury returned a four-count indictment against Blair in May 2006 charging him with four separate violations of distribution of 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack cocaine). At today’s sentencing hearing, Judge Solis found that Blair was involved in large-scale trafficking of cocaine from March 2003 until the time of his arrest in February 2006.

U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative efforts of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Gary Tromblay.
