WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, MEN SENTENCED ON DRUG CONVICTIONS

In unrelated cases, two men from Wichita Falls, Texas, Cedric Lamonte Gray, a/k/a C-Nile, 32, and Steven Shaw, 38, were sentenced this afternoon in federal court in Dallas, announced U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper of the Northern District of Texas. U.S. Senior District Judge Jerry Buchmeyer sentenced Cedric Lamonte Gray to 188 months (more than 15 years) in prison and Steven Shaw to 108 months (nine years) in prison.

Gray pled guilty in September 2006 to one count of distribution of crack cocaine. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) began investigating Gray’s drug distribution activities in late 2005 and arranged an undercover purchase of one ounce of crack cocaine from him.

In the other case, Steven Shaw also pled guilty in September 2006 to distribution of crack cocaine. ATF began investigating Shaw in late 2005 and in March 2006 arranged an undercover buy of crack cocaine from him.

U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative efforts of the ATF and the Wichita Falls Police Department. The cases were prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Tromblay.
