FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN AMARILLO CHARGES MAN WITH The indictment states that Olivarez was required to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and that he traveled in interstate commerce from Kansas to Texas, failing to register or update a registration as required. If convicted, Olivarez faces a maximum statutory sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The case is being investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service and the Lubbock, Texas, Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy L. Drake, of the Amarillo, Texas, U.S. Attorney’s Office. ###
