The female customer resisted, drawing the attention of another male customer. That male customer and Williams began to fight and then Williams struck him with his pistol. Williams ran outside and was followed by the customer. Williams then racked the slide of the pistol and pointed it at the customer, who then retreated. Afterwards, Williams ran to a vehicle, which he had stolen from a carwash minutes before entering the bank. In total, Williams robbed the financial institutions of nearly $66,000. U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Amarillo Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy L.
