FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN AMARILLO, TEXAS,
INDICTS BANK ROBBERS


United States Attorney Richard B. Roper announced that a federal indictment was unsealed today in Amarillo, Texas, that charges two men, Keith Anthony Williams and Ronnie Brandon Moore, with the armed bank robberies of several banks in Amarillo, Texas. Moore was arrested this morning by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Williams is in custody on related charges in Potter County, Texas.

The indictment charges Keith Anthony Williams, age 41, of Amarillo, with the following armed bank robberies:

• May 1, 2006 Bank of America
3601 South Washington Street
Amarillo, Texas

• June 9, 2006 Amarillo National Bank
3507 Northeast 24th Street
Amarillo, Texas

• August 21, 2006 Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union
6100 West I-40
Amarillo, Texas

• September 22, 2006 Bank of America
3601 South Washington Street
Amarillo, Texas

The indictment also charges Ronnie Brandon Moore, age 32, of Amarillo, with the August 21, 2006 armed bank robbery of the Amarillo Federal Credit Union.

An indictment is an accusation by a federal grand jury and a defendant is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty. However, if convicted on all counts, Keith Anthony Williams faces a maximum statutory sentence of 125 years imprisonment and a $1.25 million fine and Ronnie Brandon Moore faces a maximum statutory sentence of 25 years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

U.S. Attorney Roper commended the investigative efforts of Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Amarillo, Texas, Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christy L. Drake of the Amarillo, Texas, United States Attorney’s Office.
