FORMER PANTEX EMPLOYEE SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON
FOR STEALING COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FROM PLANT

AMARILLO, Texas — Terrence Renaldo Davis, who worked at the Pantex Plant near Amarillo, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Mary Lou Robinson to serve six months in federal prison and pay a $2000 fine for stealing government property, announced U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper of the Northern District of Texas. Davis,33, of Amarillo, pled guilty in September to one count of a three-count indictment charging theft of government property. Judge Robinson also ordered that Davis report to the Bureau of Prisons by January 5, 2009.

The Pantex Plant is under the direction and control of the U.S. Department of Energy and the property of the Pantex Plant is owned by the Department of Energy. The Inspector General’s Office of the Department of Energy became aware that property had been stolen from the plant, and upon questioning, Davis admitted that around January 2006 he stole a Dell computer system from the Pantex warehouse loading dock. Davis also admitted that he had stolen another Dell computer system from Pantex in January 2008, along with a Xerox machine that belonged to the Department of Energy.

The case was investigated by the Department of Energy, Office of Inspector General and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Drake of the Amarillo, Texas, U.S. Attorney’s Office.
