WICHITA FALLS MAN SENTENCED TO MORE THAN
24 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR METH DISTRIBUTION

DALLAS, Texas — Roberto Alcocer Orihuela, 33, was sentenced on Friday by U.S. District Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater to 292 months (more than 24 years) in prison, announced U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper. Orihuela pled guilty in October 2007 to one count of distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

In spring 2007, state and federal law enforcement offers began an investigation concerning the trafficking of methamphetamine in the Wichita Falls area. During the course of the investigation, an undercover officer was introduced to Orihuela and methamphetamine deliveries were arranged. On June 27, 2007, Orihuela sold this undercover officer more than 50 grams of methamphetamine at a motel in Wichita Falls, Texas.

U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative work of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Wichita Falls Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Tromblay.
