WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, MEN SENTENCED ON
DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES IN UNRELATED CASES

Defendant Dustin Delayne Reynolds Sentenced to 30 Years in Federal Prison

DALLAS — Two men from Wichita Falls, Texas, were sentenced today in federal court in Dallas, announced U.S. Attorney Richard B. Roper of the Northern District of Texas.

U.S. Chief District Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater sentenced Dustin Delayne Reynolds, 24, who pled guilty in September to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, to 360 months (30 years) in prison. During a traffic stop by a Wichita Falls, Texas, police officer on March 21, 2007, Reynolds, the only occupant of the vehicle, was arrested after the officer discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine in the center console of the vehicle. Reynolds admitted that he had acquired the methamphetamine from a named supply source to sell to others for profit.

In the other unrelated case, Judge Fitzwater sentenced Jerome Lloyd McKinney, 20, who pled guilty in September to felon in possession of a firearm, to 63 months (more than five years) in prison. McKinney, a convicted felon and gang member, admitted that on March 10, 2007, he possessed a .380 caliber pistol. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office under the Project Safe Neighborhoods program, a nationwide effort targeting gun crime

U.S. Attorney Roper praised the investigative efforts of the ATF and the Wichita Falls, Texas, Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Tromblay is prosecuting the case.
