ERATH COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON In May 2009, Crabtree pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery and one count of using or carrying a firearm during a crime of violence. In plea documents filed, Crabtree admitted that on March 13, 2009, he entered the credit union carrying a Ruger 9 mm semi-automatic pistol. He approached one of the tellers, handed her a tan canvas bag and instructed her to put the money in the bag. Crabtree then fled. According to the affidavit filed with the criminal complaint, the robber entered the credit union, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, and a bandanna covering his face, and pulled out his pistol once inside the credit union. He also rounded-up those inside the credit union and directed them to sit on a couch during the robbery. The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert A. Klinck. ###
