SERIAL BANK ROBBER SENTENCED TO 96 MONTHS IN FEDERAL PRISON Defendant Robbed Five Branches of First Convenience Bank DALLAS — Samuel Johns Dickey, 43, of Dallas, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis to 96 months (eight years) in federal prison and ordered to pay nearly $9000 in restitution for robbing five First Convenience Banks in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex between October 23 and November 4, 2009, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas. Dickey admitted committing the following bank robberies, all of which were located in WalMart stores: ∙ October 23, 2009 First Convenience Bank ∙ October 25, 2009 First Convenience Bank ∙ October 27, 2009 First Convenience Bank ∙ November 4, 2009 First Convenience Bank Dickey was arrested on November 9, 2009, after a concerned citizen saw a wanted poster of the suspect and notified law enforcement. The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Kull. ### |
