DALLAS — Two defendants charged in a heroin trafficking conspiracy in Dallas, pleaded guilty today to their roles in the conspiracy, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas. James Strange, 52, and Hugh Washington, 36, both of Dallas, each pleaded guilty today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul D. In addition, last week, four defendants charged in the same indictment, Marcus Washington, 38; Phil Kise, 36; Sonda Eaton, 36; and Sylvia Anderson, 56; each pleaded guilty to the same offense. These defendants are scheduled to be sentenced on March 4, 2011.

Defendants Jose Aveja, 22; Tracy Johnson, Valentin Morillos, 31; Randy Shelton, 41; and Gregory Washington have signed plea papers, but have not yet entered their pleas before the Court. The remaining three defendants charged in the indictment, which was returned by a federal grand jury in Dallas in August 2010, Tracy Johnson, 48; Torrence Key, 38; and Johnnie Myers, 55; have not been apprehended.

The case is being investigated by the Dallas Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Tromblay is in charge of the prosecution.
