FORMER FORT WORTH TAX PREPARER SENTENCED
According to the factual resume filed in the case, Smith was in the tax preparation business from 2005 to 2008. She owned and worked at All Money Tax Services, located on Highway 820 South, in Fort Worth, and prior to that, she prepared income tax returns at Towne Center Mall, also in Fort Worth, under the name of Yolanda’s Tax Service. In February 2007, Smith electronically filed a fraudulent federal income tax return for an individual, inflating that individuals’ W-2 wage information to $22,278. The factual resume further states that the individual actually earned less than $4,000 in tax year 2006 and did not receive a W-2 from any employer. The false and fraudulent information submitted by Smith, according to the factual resume filed, resulted in that individual claiming a federal income tax refund of approximately $7,231.
