equitable treatment for 9/11 victims
Department of Justice Staff,
I write to beg you to include recognition of partners of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender victims of 9/11 terrorism. We have all suffered equally in our losses, and it is a most egregious insult to exclude those of us who, by sheer accident of birth, are different from the legally recognized family structures. You must realize that WE ARE ALL AMERICANS, and we have the same dreams, goals, losses, etc., as do our straight, traditional counterparts. PLEASE INCLUDE EVERYONE IN THE UPCOMING DECISION FOR RELIEF.
PLEASE TREAT OUR RELATIONSHIPS AS VALID. Many of us have relationships that span several decades!
Thank you,
A Gay American
