Sept. 11 Victims
To Whom It May Concern:
I write in order to advocate that ALL the victims of the September 11
attacks be able to participate in any governmental funds available on their
behalf. Domestic partners and the children of gay parents should be
allowed to receive benefits; their loved ones' sexual orientation and
marriage licenses should not be the defining measure of who is eligible to
receive benefits.
Please do the right thing. It was a gay man who was instrumental in
saving American lives by fighting the hijackers on one of the American
airlines' flights (the one that crashed in Pennsylvania). Surely anyone
who believes in justice and fairness and equality for all will recognize
that the domestic partners and children of gay people are just as
deserving, and just as grief-stricken, as those in traditional heterosexual
families.
Sincerely,
