Compensation for Victims families

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to express my concern over who will be included for compensation of victim's families after the tragedy of 9/11. My concern is for those surviving members of non-traditional families that may not have been bound by marriage certificates. Whether or not you support families that consist of either: 1)Gay or Lesbian couples, or 2) Heterosexual Life-Partners that aren't married, should not matter. Everyone who loved and depended on those who were lost in this horrible tragedy should be cared for, because that is what America stands for: diversity. Each person that was lost on that day was a unique individual with hopes and dreams, who loved their family very much, and you would negate them just as much as the terrorists if you chose to ignore any of them. I think it is sad and pathetic that we can even begin to consider this question, when we are not a religious state but a secular one. I myself am very religious, but I also know that Holy Books of many religions, particularly Christianity, state that we should not judge each other. Please do not erase these people and the feelings that they had for their loved ones, to do so would be just as much of an act of hate as the terrorist act that prematurely ended their lives.

Thankyou for your time.
