Letter to Mr. Kenneth Zwick
.Dear Mr. Zwick:
.I am writing in response to the Department's request for public
omments regarding the forthcoming regulations for implementing
and administering the "September 11 Victim Compensation Fund."
I strongly urge the Department to draft regulations that ensure
compensation is available to all victims of the attack,
including the committed partners and the non-biological children
of gay and lesbian victims.
Efforts by right wing bigots to deny victims relief to survivors and dependents of single sex marriages is unconscionable, unAmerican, and sick.. The Department of Justice is already in danger of becoming thoroughly discredited--don't add this insult to the great injury that is being done to the constitution under the cover of anti-terrorism investigations.
