Support for Gay and Lesbian victims

Kenneth L. Zwick, Director
Office of Management Programs, Civil Division
U.S. Department of Justice

Dear Mr. Zwick,

It is inconceiveable in the face of the tragedy of September 11th that the Justice Department would consider excluding the suriving partners and children of lesbian and gay victims from support. What possibly is the rationale? That an individual's private life can exempt them from their rights as citizens, victims, and patriots?

I urge you to include ALL victims of September 11 to receive benefits. And if the Justice Department begins to make discriminations among the victims, I strongly urge them to stay out of the private lives of all victims, straight or gay.
