Sirs:
To discriminate against gay and lesbian families is wrong. When two people
live in a domestic partnership because it is the only formal means available,
they live the same way heterosexual couples do: depending upon each other of
emotional, mental, and financial support. When the 9-11 tragedy happened,
all families suffered a great loss. The pain of losing a loved one is the
same for all families. The great financial burden is also the same. All
families from 9-11 will have to go on and rebuild their lives. I contributed
money to many of the groups collecting money. I never thought for a minute
that in the light of a great tragedy you would deny money arbitrarily and
capriciously. In doing so you are making a gigantic moral mistake.
