Sept 11 Victim Compensation

Kenneth L. Zwick
Director Office of Management Programs
U.S. Department of Justice

Sir,

It is vitally important that we recognize and honor the lives of all our heroes in this world and not ignore and turn our backs on some families that we deem illegitmate.

One of the brave young men who lost his life on the plane attempted to save the lives and may have succeeded in saving the lives of many innocent people was gay. A pastor who lost his life while ministering at Ground Zero was gay. They are our heroes. Don't the people with whom these heroes and other victims shared their lives deserve to be compensated equally with other families?

After 6 years of the equivilent of "marriage,"are we saying that my significant other is but merely a friend?

No wonder my company (one of the Fortune 500) won't initiate Domestic Partner Benefits for my family when they pick up the paper and read how our own government won't even acknowlege and support the partners of victims of September 11?
