Dear Sir,
I, as a tax paying citizen, urge you to include among relatives eligible for compensation those who lost
their life partners or de facto parents or children, regardless of sexual orientation or marital status. Love is love & should not be determined by what the majority feels it should entail. My relationship with my partner is just as real & committed as a heterosexual couples. In fact, I know more gay couples that are staying together than I do heterosexuals nowadays. I pay taxes & feel the same emotions as my heterosexual neighbors. Why should my relationship be discounted? The divorce rate among heteros is at 50%-and you justify that by giving their loved ones compensation? That is so unfair. America is supposed to be the land of the free-yet it is only true for some!!!
Sincerely,
Individual Comment
