Domestic partner benefits re: Sept. 11
To:
Kenneth L. Zwick

December 11, 2001
Dear Mr. Zwick,
Recently I have learned that money collected for the
victims of the Sept. 11 attacks has not or will not be
distributed to gay, lesbian, or bisexual partners of
those who perished in the attacks.
I am very disappointed and horrified that those who
have lost loved ones would not receive the same
treatment as other family members of the Sept. 11
attacks. Please support fair and equal treatment of
all citizens of the United States that have been
traumatized from the loss of a significant partner
from these attacks.
In Virginia, Governor Gilmore is not supporting equal
treatment for partners of those who were killed on
Sept. 11. I understand that Governor Pataki of New
York has supported and will give financial support to
partners of victims from Sept. 11.
These events have been very difficult for all citizens
in the United States. Please consider my comments in
making the decision to give financial support for all
people throughout the United States who lost partners
and family members due to these attacks. Thank you
for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Individual Comment
