SUBJ: Compensation of Gay and Lesbian Victims' Families
This is in response to the Department's request for public comments regarding
forthcoming regulations regarding the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund. I strongly urge
the Department to develop regulations that guarantee equal compensation to all victims, regardless
of sexual orientation and/or marital status. Until federal and other applicable laws fairly treat same-
sex relationships, gay and lesbian families must receive equal treatment from funds such as this.
