compensation for ALL families victimized by the Sept. 11 attacks

Kenneth L. Zwick, Director
Office of Management Programs, Civil Division
U.S. Department of Justice

Dear Mr. Zwick,

I urge the Justice Department to include gay, lesbian, and heterosexual domestic partners and life partners and their children in the regulations regarding compensation and support for survivors of those lost in the September 11th attacks. To do otherwise is to divide our nation at a time when we need unity more than ever. It also proves to those enemies of our nation that we are not "one nation...with liberty and justice for all".

Those lost in the tragedy our whole nation endured were not singled out for their marital status nor for their sexual orientation nor their affectional preferences. They were targeted because they were Americans. Please don't discriminate against them now. Many people lost loved ones in this terrible attack-and many of them had gay, lesbian or domestic partners. Many of them were children of nontraditional families such as these.

Sincerely,
