my 2 cents

To whom it may concern,

While the events of Sept. 11 were tragic and the personal losses great, I must question the decision to give money to victims' families in unlimited amounts. Does a            's Executive's family get money? Why? Since he was certainly making millions of dollars a year and is no doubt insured to the hilt. In that particular case it seems unfair to give that family any money, they don't really need it. Are we giving these people money simply because they are tied to this particular event? What about the thousands of people who lose family members to accidents and 'everyday' violence? Are they any less deserving of a helping hand? While I am sad that so many people have to face the rigors of insurance and governmental paperwork, it is, after all, what the rest of us are forced to do. Tragedy and death come to us all, why should a select few be paid for what the rest of us must bear alone?
