Victims Compensation
I think any government compensation paid to victims of the 9-11-01 attack
should be reduced by any amount they get from pensions, insurance, gifts, or
charities. The idea is to be made whole, not rewarded. And the recipients
of government payments should pay any attorney fees. Paying attorney fees is
for a party at fault.
In fact, I'm not even clear on why the government is paying for pain and
suffering. How is the government at fault here?
