Status of charity awards
To Whom it May Concern:
I strongly believe that any Federal aid should be reduced by the amount
of charitable aid received. To both protect the airlines from
litigation and quicken payments to affected families, the government has
set up this generous fund at great potential taxpayer's expense. It's
purpose I believe, is to supplement money received by the families from
insurance, charity and other sources, in other words to "make people
whole." The government didn't have to create this fund and it is
nobody's right to receive it. Therefore, it should be viewed as a
supplement to charity with the charity amounts deducted from final
payments.
