Concerns about the disbursement of federal funds
I write in support of decreasing the amount of federal money the survivors of
those lost in the Sept. 11 attacks receive by the sum they have been given by
charities. No one should profit from this tragedy, and "double dipping" by
relatives of the deceased is wrong.
We as a nation should be certain that no one will financially suffer from
losing a loved one in the attacks, but we should also not attempt to
compensate for the emotional loss of individuals. That is incalculable.
