Gays and Lesbians Should REceive Equal Treatment
I am writing in support of the hundreds of comments that support the
rights of gay and lesbian family members to equal treatment from the
Funds for the victims of September 11. I am a straight, single father
of three, but have many friends who live in committed, financially
interdependent and loving family relationships who are as much family as
any straight couples and would be as devastated emotionally and
financially if one partner died. If President Bush could make use of
the equal treatment doctrine to gain election, why not gay and lesbian
familes and survivors.
