Benefits for Gay/Lesbian partners of Victims of Sept 11

Sir,
I find it outrageous that an equality cannot be found to aid all the survivors of the September 11th attacks. Following the attacks, we all found strength and faith in the actions of the victims, the rescuers, and, indeed, many nameless persons who acted to benefit all of us. The discrimination shown by the 9/11 Fund against the partners of Gay/Lesbian victims is a slap in the face to what we as American are most proud, the willingness to stand as one people, and the passion with which Americans defend each other, without stopping to demand identity papers from those we defend. I want to know when the Gay/Lesbian victims stopped being as fully human as those died with them.

Thank you for taking the time to read this,
