Instructions on Physically Injured Personnel in the Final Rule
Mr Feinberg,
Why are the instructions for physically injured personnel in the Victims
Compensation Fund so vague and lacking in specific guidance? With current
rules, each case will be considered on an individual basis in determining
the final compensation that will be provided. With these vague rules, how
does an injured person determine if enrolling in the program will be in
their best interest to cover potential medical bills that may arise at a
later time and also give fair compensation in waiving your rights to sue at
a later date? The current rules provide nothing in this regard. I just want
to make an informed decision that the Victims Compensation Fund will be my
best option. For the physically injured, there is no way to tell and no way
to even estimate what the program might offer. Additionally, why are there
not rules for the non-economic loss for the surviving members of the
families of the physically injured? The final rule provides clear guidance
for the deceased, but no specific guidance for physically injured for
non-economic loss for family members. I posted a earlier comment reference
these rules and never got a response back. I would respectfully request
some feedback from my comments
