9/11 Funds

I cannot believe that, no matter what someone's personal beliefs, they could see not giving gay/lesbian partners and families their share of the 9/11 funds as the right thing to do. By refusing their right to some of these funds, the American people are belittling and ignoring the sacrifices made by AMERICAN CITIZENS that just happened to be gay or lesbian. The fund is giving money to ILLEGAL ALIENS, people who have no right to anything else but will get their share of the 9/11 funds because they lost loved ones. So how is it wrong to give AMERICAN CITIZENS,who lost loved ones, their share of the 9/11 funds due to their sexual preferences. If we are to follow the laws, then apply them to everyone and refuse to give aid to ILLEGAL ALIENS families as well as gay/lesbian families. I thought we were a country that fought against discrimination, not encouraged it. I am seriously concerned that our government would not help its own citizens in the wake of this tragedy.
