September 11th Fund

If in fact the statements that gay and lesbians who died as a result of the Attacks on America and who continue to defend and die for our Country are less than human beings in the eyes of the Fund Committee, it is an act of out right discrimination and repulsion. Those that gave their lives and continue to do so, were not asked or considered their sexual orientation in death, but die bravely for the USA. No man or woman should be treated as second class citizens and their loved ones, be it a domestic partner of a same sex couple, their parents, the siblings and yes, even their children, must know that they are equal under the eyes of the USA and the protections that we afford.

If in fact the policy as expoused is accurate, then the ignorance of Federal Laws for other groups is discrimination of the worst form.

When honoring and assisting those remaining after the deaths of their loved ones are not equal, but some are more equal than others ?-- we are giving a message of Hate and Bigotry to the World. This is not the Country that I know and love and for which I stand up proudly.

Change the policy and do the right thing by all those that are being honored and remembered for their lives and their deaths. Then we can all stand proudly at the Star Spangle Banner and Our Flag, the symbol of the USA for freedom and tolerance and no discrimination!
