Compensation to gay victims' significant others

It has come to my attention that your organization has chosen NOT to make any compensation to the partners of gays and lesbians who have been lost in the September 11 attacks.

I do not know whether this is true or not. However, I do know that as a gay male who has lost two lovers, it saddens me to think that the love I had, and the commitment that we made (until death do us part) is not treated as equally as the love shared by my fellow heterosexuals.

If it is true that your organization has chosen to exclude those homosexuals (there cannot be that many of us in total) based upon the fact that there is no legal reasoning, I understand the decision, however, I strongly disagree with it, and ask from the depth of my heart that you reconsider.

Respectfully,
Individual Comment
