Kenneth Feinberg, head of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund,
Department of Justice
Attorney General John Ashcroft
President George W. Bush
Vice President Dick Cheney

Dear Sirs:

The federal government has found a way to put aside laws regarding the rights of illegal immigrants in order to grant compensation to the loved ones of those illegal aliens killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. This is our government at its best.

If our government can do the right thing for illegal immigrants killed in the attacks and their loved ones, then it absolutely must do the right thing for all American citizens killed and their loved ones.

The federal government can find a way to put aside laws regarding the rights of Americans who happen to be homosexual in order to grant compensation to the loved ones of those gay and lesbian American citizens killed in the terrorist attacks. It would be shameful to do otherwise.

Don't hide behind "states' rights" rhetoric. No state is asking you to deny compensation to anyone. Just do the right thing and do it now.
