Re: September 11th fund for Victims
I am appalled at the comments made by Kenneth Feinberg on
NBC's "Meet the Press," March 10, 2002 with respect to allowing or should I
say preventing benefits for the life partners of gay men and lesbians who
died in the September 11th attacks.
To take the stand "to refer to state law" is a down right cop out and
blatant bigotry on the part of those in power over the funds. Had I known
that Gay men and Lesbian partners of those who died in the attacks would be
excluded (once again) I would have thought twice about giving the donations I
have given and would have encouraged an organization like HRC (Human Rights
Campaign) to start a Gay partner fund.
Shame on you Kenneth Feinberg, shame on you 9/11 victim benefits
organization, shame on you senators and congressmen for letting this
discrimination continue
Have some heart, if Ken is allowing for compensation for illegal aliens
then why not committed domestic gay partners who are tax paying citizens.
Wake up people celebrate our differences and diversity don't let it separate
us and make this tragedy worse for our gay brothers and sisters.
