Federal Government discrimination of gays and lesbians
I am appalled at the ability of the Federal Government to discriminate against the partners of gay and lesbian heros who lost their lives in the September 11th tragedy. The fact that the Bush Administration, John Ashcroft, and Kenneth Feinberg have decided to include every family member, born or unborn, legal citizen or illegal alien, in benefitting from the 911 fund EXCEPT partners and dependents of gay and lesbian partnerships is absolutely abhorrent, and smacks in the face of compassion that must be extended to all Americans as a result of this tragedy. This is blatant discrimination on the part of the Federal Government, and it needs to be corrected.
