rise above it

Dear Mr Feinberg,

Please rise above the excuse that you don't want to contradict state law in compensating the gay partners of the Sept 11th tragedy.

Surely the federal government is able to establish a criterion for determining who is a bona fide partner in a gay relationship (shared address and evidence of a commitment for starters) for the purpose of this fund being administered equitably. Doing so would not change or violate any state's law. It would simply be a little more effort for your staff. Did the gays involved in rescue efforts on 911 stop to think about how much effort it would be to rescue other Americans?

The terrorists changed all the rules.
It's up to us to set things right.
It's up to YOU to act with courage, as did the heros of 911, straight or gay.

Sincerely,
Individual Comment
Douglasville, GA
